I asked KGB what existentialism was and they responded with this" existentialism assumes that people are entirely free & thus responsible for what they make of themselves".
I agree and disagree with Banachs ideas. I feel like we are completely free to be ourselves . Whether or not we take advantage of this "freedom" is our decission. I think that we ,in this day and age, have morals. I think that our morals limit us in a way. So far what I've noticed about our morals ,is that most of them benefit the human race. Like not killing, that moral ensures that we live, punching people randomly would comprimise certain peoples happiness which is why we don't do it. Basically our morals optimize our experience as humans . We are still free to do what we want as long as we don't interfere with the lives of others.

I agree with you that we all have created morals to benefit ourselves and justify our lifestyles.
ReplyDeleteI like how you state your points and then show how your argument would affect the lives of others. For example, "We are still free to do what we want as long as we don't interfere with the lives of others." That quote shows how you relate our personal morals to how free we are within society.
I feel that your blog would be stronger if you added in quotes from Banach. By using his arguments and agreeing/countering them, your own arguments would become stronger because you would have evidence.
This was very interesting to read
p.s. the first sentence was a good attention grabber
